And away we go…

May 18th, 2010

I set this blog up a few weeks back, after buying the web space about a month ago tomorrow.

Those transactions all happened late at night so, immediately afterward, I got very tired and went to bed.

But the last few months of in-depth HTML and Dreamweaver classes, studying, reading, developing and doing little else caught up with me. My mind raced as I tried to get to sleep. It took hours to quiet my thoughts and drift off, only to wake up a few short hours later.

After learning Web site design for months, buying your own site with unlimited space is very much like a little kid getting a huge sandbox all to himself. I’ve got a bucket, a shovel, piles and piles of Legos, Lincoln Logs and little green army men. Of course, I’m excited. Too excited to sleep. Or write.

So that’s my excuse for committing the greatest sin a writer could commit –not writing. (No, I didn’t use the passive tense, but that one’s up there). I’ve got a blog and this needs to be the focus of some of my attention.

It’s going to be a process of getting used to this; I can’t say I’ve paid much attention to blogs at all before. I feel a little bit more comfortable about it after doing some last-minute reading. But I’ll be feeling my way through this for the time being. I hope it doesn’t show much.
